Looking a little sheepy...
Eddie's fur is finally growing back from his hind leg. It kinda reminds me of the way wool looks on sheep. It looks pretty thick, so at least it will keep him warm thru the winter.

We took Duke & Eddie to the vet on Friday and Eddie has lost about 4 lbs since his surgery. Duke has lost about the same. We think Duke's been a little depressed since he's been separated from his buddy.
Duke's not understanding the concept that his mouth is way too small for both a softball and tennis ball to fit in.
The thing that I have always loved about Eddie is his eyes. From the moment I saw him at the adoption day event, I couldn't look away from those teady bear, beady eyes. They look so warm and caring but at the same time so deep and interesting. He's a thinker for sure. Not really sure of what he's thinking of or if it even makes sense, but I know he's doing alot in there.
Duke just loves playing with his ball. He'll play fetch with you til your arm falls off. Since nobody we know has the stamina of ball throwing to keep up with Duke, he's learned how to entertain himself.
Eddie was a little frustrated and he made that point loud and clear. The cabin fever was so strong that he tried to bite his way out. He didn't succeed, but he did manage to warp the wires pretty good. At least we know his jaw is working at it's maximum potential. He bit it so hard that we can't even bend the wires back with our hands.
Eddie went in for his 2 week check-up today and I also had them check the wound area because it had some kind of liquid build up around the surgical area. The good news is that the doctor wasn't too worried about the liquid around the knee and that it should be fine.
I love those days when you step in the backyard and see the floor just covered with little marks like these. Doesn't it just give you a happy feeling inside? Works for me every time.
Now that Eddie's stuck in a cage during his recovery, Duke has the whole house to himself. He just doesn't seem too happy about that. He really misses Eddie's company in the house that just seems too big and too empty.
The spray from a dogs drinking tongue will eventually get you. This time it was the steps turn. Feeding them leftovers can be a dangerous job.
Duke still is itching like crazy and now his sores are getting raw from his constant chewing. We decided to give him another bath with stronger soap. 2 baths within the same week. He's probably wondering what he did to deserve such punishment.
Good grip.
Duke has gotten so many fleas lately. We think it's because he's jumping over the doghouse and laying on the grass. We gave him a bath today to try and get rid of all the little suckers. It's so bad that he's scratching til his skin gets raw. Hopefully this will help get rid of some of those little pests.
Duke had to make sure Eddie was okay, so he came in to fill in Eddie on all the things he missed while he was gone. I wonder where Duke thought Eddie was that whole time. Duke did notice that Eddie smelled different. For all we know, Duke was thinking Eddie was at dog beach chasing the birds. That would definitely be a little confusing. Why would you go to the beach and come back with a naked leg?
I picked up Eddie today and I gotta say he was very happy to be getting out of that place. I think he will forever associate the pain of surgery with that place. I just hope he doesn't throw a fit when I bring him in for his 2 week checkup! I'm just glad he's finally home and happy.
The doctor said that Eddie did well and now the hard part starts. A 6-8 week recovery time for his ACL. He needs to be in a cage in order to keep the knee healthy. He won't like that at all, but we have no choice. They are keeping him one more day, so I went to go visit him for a bit.
