The towel is juuuust right...
For some reason, Duke doesn't like to sleep on his bed when he's in the house. He has a nice fluffy soft bed, but he chooses to curl up on the thin blue towel on the floor.

Don't get too nervous when cooking in our kitchen. Just know that you will draw a crowd and they will be watching your every move.
If you ever want to find out what's inside any ball that you have, just introduce it to Duke. This USED to be a professional grade baseball.
For some reason, Eddie always wants the chewie that Duke has. If Duke's chewing on one and Eddie has his own, he just stares at Duke's chewie. Eddie will only eat the other one that wasn't his in the first place. We got ourselves a high maintenance brat.
You know that feeling you get when you can feel someone watching over you? I get that every time I eat at the dinner table.
I went to the kitchen to check on Eddie, and noticed this on the backyard cement.
Duke sleeps as close as he can to Eddie when they're in the house. He never really used to do that before when Eddie was out of the cage. I guess he's pretty lonely and really misses his brother.
When Eddie was at the hospital, I took some time to play with Duke. Just the 2 of us...and a few accessories.
Duke's wiskers have split ends! I guess we're gunna have to use conditioner in addition to the dog soap. I wonder if V05 makes a canine fur heat treatment?
Eddie's finally back home and with a naked leg again.
I let Duke inside last nite since Eddie's still not home. I started laughing cause Duke's extra neck skin makes him look like he's sporting a very cozy turtleneck.
I took both dogs into the vet last nite, but only one was coming back with me. Eddie is having his surgery tomorrow, so he was going to sleep over at the vet's. I had to also take Duke with me to get this weird lump checked out. At first, it looked like a blister in between his toes, but then it started to grow bigger. I just wanted to get it checked out just in case. Everything is fine, and the vet said that it doesn't look like it would be a concern. We just need to watch it and see if it gets any bigger or starts to get infected. Once Duke was done, they took Eddie away and into the cage in the back. Duke kept looking at the door to see if Eddie would come running out, he was so sad.
Eddie's 6th week stuck in the slammer has some side effects that I never really thought about until the other day. His nails! I never really worried about it with the boys before, because all their running and playing in the backyard would keep their nails maintained. I guess I took that for granted before, because now that Eddie's deprived of that luxury, he's well overgrown. Don't you just love those little things in life that help you out a bit? Cement : dog groomer extraodinaire!
We decided to give the dogs a treat today and take them to the beach. Since Eddie's going back in for surgery, we wanted him to get out for a little bit and get some sand between his toes before he goes for another 6 week term. Eddie didn't get to run around like he used to, but at least he got to hang out in the sand for a bit and soak in the ocean air.
Eddie is going back to the operating room...again. The doctor finally got back to us and suggested another ACL technique. This time she recommended that we sedate him for the initial 2 weeks just to be safe and so the sutures will have better odds of healing and holding.
The other day when I noticed Duke's pink nose, I had to stop and think for a minute. He didn't come with a pink nose when we got him. So I had to look thru the archives of photos to see what really happend.
I let Eddie out to do his business and something about Duke caught my eye. Dogs come with coordinating accessories...matching toenails and noses! Funny how I never connected the 2 before. Looks like Eddie has one nail that didn't get the memo.
Duke relaxing with 2 of his 3 best friends. (3rd not pictured, in cage to the right)
Learned something new this weekend, so I dug out some old pictures of the boys to use as my guinea pigs. I just love the look of polaroid pictures. They make anything look fun.
We had family from Hawaii staying with us the other week and before they flew back home, they left a departing gift. It was probably from our 2 yr old nephew who just LOVED Eddie. Every morning he would walk into the kitchen and say "Hi Ahddie!" and stick his hand into the cage to pet him. I think our nephew left his toy cause he thought it looked so much like his favorite Ahddie. I agree.
Duke has had red itchy eyes lately and when we took him to the vet to find out what was going on, the doctor said not to worry and that it was just his allergies. ALLERGIES?!?! I never knew dogs could get that! What's next, chicken pox?!?!
