Warm fronts...
Fast asleep, in the heated house, on a cold winter's day.
I swear he has the hearing of a super hero! I can't even spy on him in secret from behind the blinds!
I woke up one morning before work last week & looked out our bedroom window to see Eddie in the backyard...in the wet morning dew and fog.
J-E-L-L-O! Duke loves chewing up the itty bitty leftovers. We love making jello in glass bowls just so we can crack up at things like this. Yes, Duke & Eddie's parents are VERY easily amused.
Eddie always loves his moments to reflect on life, licking & birds.
This is usually the 1st thing I see when I walk thru the door after work. Eddie waiting with his snaggletooth & Duke prepped & ready to play ball.
Duke & Eddie know that they're not supposed to be on the carpet & think they found a loophole with the house rules. They're assuming that we won't allow them to STAND on it, so everything else like resting your mouth & feet on the carpet is not really breaking the rules. Looks like I'll have to re-word the contract to include the details.
Eddie's still not giving up on the stakeout. Looks like he's setting up camp in a closer location. And when he get's caught on film...that's a definite look of guilty intentions!
(Found this pic from the Toby Beach Day back in October. I guess I forgot to post it...oops! Better late than never!)
Has already started! Here's what to look forward to! Eddie's counting the days.
Eddie's high maintenance chewie status has taken it's toll on Duke. Normally, Eddie would steal the already been chewed snack from Duke when he gets up to get a drink of water. Duke could care less & just take another chewie. But lately Duke's been very protective of his snacks. I guess after all those times he's gotten swooped on, he's finally gotten tired of being taken advantage of. He now tries to sit as far away from Eddie as he can, in order to escape from Eddie's prying eyes.
I saw the boys fast asleep the other day, so of course I decided to take pictures of them! =) There were lots of birds chirping & making noises, so I figured they wouldn't hear me. Apparently Duke's hearing is unreal, he must have bat ears! At least I know I can catch Eddie with a few shots before he actually hears me.
Duke was stuck in a dilemma and couldn't decide which one he wanted to rescue. He was there for so long that he eventually had to sit down.
Eddie had another whisker casualty. I wonder how these things break off all the time?! It doesn't happen to Duke, just Eddie. Probably cause Eddie has whiskers as thick as tree trunks!
Time to take a nap. They plopped down in this position & were stuck there for a while. They didn't even bother to get up when they caught me taking their picture. They only had the energy to lift up their heads & nothing else. I guess this is what running non-stop for hours on end will do to you.
Even thought Duke was sleeping, he must have smelled something familiar, cause he sat up really fast & started to look out the window. He must have known we were almost home.
Even though he looked very uncomfortable & didn't have much room, Eddie just took it in stride & was just happy he got to go to the beach. I just love the look of happiness/craziness on his face!
On the way home, Duke enjoyed all the room he had to lay out & stretch out his paws. Poor Eddie was squished up against the side with no room to rest his paws.
Toby was relaxing & enjoying the day, but Duke & Eddie were on a mission to catch a bird.
